Job Description

Council is seeking a motivated and practical Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team and support the ongoing care and upkeep of Council-owned buildings and facilities.

In this role, you will undertake routine and ad-hoc inspections of Council facilities, carry-out general maintenance and repair works, and capture asset and condition data to support preventative maintenance planning. You will also liaise with, monitor, and provide access to facilities for Council's contractors as part of your day-to-day duties. In addition, you will respond to emergency maintenance requests and contribute to a broad range of facilities maintenance activities as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

You will have good written and verbal English skills, enabling you to understand and carry out instructions provided verbally or in writing in an appropriate and professional manner. You will bring proven hands-on experience in building maintenance and demonstrate a practical, problem-solving approach to your work.

Sound computer literacy skills are essential, with the ability to accurately record maintenance activities and asset information using Council systems.

A trade qualification or a relevant qualification in facilities or asset management will be highly regarded.
